This is the Valentine I made for the kids in my class, except on theirs the heart was watercolored. I was pretty happy with how they turned out, but writing the little notes inside was much tougher. How many variations of "Happy Valentine's Day, Dude!" can you come up with? I could have written actual personal phrases like "Suzie- You don't know it but you are the smartest kid in the class" or "Mike- You are a good swearer but not as good at staying out of earshot. And you shouldn't swear." or "Jane- the reason you failed when you tried to play football with the guys was because you'd never played before and didn't get the nuances. You are faster, quicker, better at catching and throwing than them and if you played every day by the end of the week you'd be picked first." but I didn't want to get too heavy with them. Erin and I, for our part, ate BBQ and watched the Gilmore Girls. THAT's love.
